"I can’t believe we’re arguing over a Blue Riband." "I can’t believe we’re stuck down a mine." "Yet here we are."
3 May 1979, South Wales. Thatcher is counting her votes, Sid Vicious is spinning in his grave and six Welsh Miners are trapped down a coal mine. Within two weeks, everything these men believe in and everything they know will have changed.
Starring Clive Merrison (The History Boys), Chris Urch's critically acclaimed debut play is packed full of blistering comedy and a generation of lost voices (Time Out’s Critic’s Choice and Fringe Show of the Year 2013).
Land of Our Fathers received its world premiere at Theatre503 on 18 September 2013 in a co-production with Euan Borland Productions and Tara Finney Productions. The play opened to critical acclaim receiving a host of four and five star reviews, five Off West End Award nominations (Finalist 2014, Best Production) and played to sell-out audiences across its original run.
Land of Our Fathers had it's West End premiere at Trafalgar Studios on 3 September 2014.
